The place where two continents meet
The outermost region of Thrace charmingly combines the glory of both Christian and Muslim traditions. It is the birthplace of the most distinctive and weighty creation of the neo-Hellenic goldsmithing tradition: the corona (crown) belt, a huge copper belt given by the groom to the bride as a gift. It was part of her costume for years as a beacon of happiness but for keeping evil spirits away as well.
