The legends of Alexander the Great merge with the Byzantine glory and the Balkan forms

Τhe Macedonian jewellery of the neo-Hellenic period reflects the multicultural environment of the region. Head decoration was of great importance, using heavy and complex jewellery that reached the shoulders. The Macedonian jewellery with granulated decoration and sheet metal pendants are amongst the oldest samples of the neo-Hellenic silversmithing tradition.
